Kari Bremnes // LY // CD

Kari Bremnes's new album, LY (Shelter), features 11 fresh songs spanning a wide range of ideas, visions and musical temperament. Bremnes is not afraid to look into all the nooks and crannies of life, writing about how she sees the world through her eyes, where you see ugly and beautiful and light and dark in the same picture. Her songs are about simmering anger and love, about the desire for true fashion, about dancing, death, the fate of a strong woman on the polar island of Svalbard, and about finding warmth. In short, about seeking shelter.

Kari has written all the songs and cooperates on the arrangements with producer and keyboardist Bengt Hanssen and the other members of her band. The dynamic band never lets up, with Helge Norbakken on drums, Hallgrim Bratberg on guitars and Sondre Meisfjord on bass. Guest soloist Arve Henriksen plays trumpet on two of the tracks.
