"Følg oss hjem, Ole Paus" (Take us home, Ole Paus)

Take a selection of songs by Ole Paus, and a solid dash of American rock from the 1970s, have it performed by the likes of Lars Lillo-Stenberg, Jørn Christensen, Per Vestaby and Palle Krüger, and presto, what you have is a record that will not only take you down memory lane, but remind us how delightful Ole Paus’s music is and will continue to be for years and years to come.

"Leieboerne" (The Tenants) is a group consisting of the above-mentioned artists and Live Maria Roggen, Geir Lynnismann Sundstøl, Line Lockert and Jørun Bøgeberg.

If you are a tenant you rent, you don’t own. The nice thing about renting is that you can rearrange the furniture a bit and then pretend that you own. So you have a home in the here and now, and you don't need to get bogged down in sentimental mush connected to the past and the future. People who own are often plagued by things like that.

That being said, it appears that the owner of the house in this case has a refreshing lack of sentimentality, almost like he was his own tenant. Renting from Ole Paus brings you into a fascinatingly huge house full of cellars and attics. The lease was so short, though, that we couldn’t open all the bedrooms and their accompanying bathrooms. If we had, we would never have gotten out of there, moving from one room party to the next.

But we do want to mention all the fabulous stuff we found in the attic that we dragged down into the living-room, that’s why there are many songs from Ole's earliest period.

Anyway, whatever the case, owned or rented, this is our motto:

-Følg oss hjem, Ole Paus! (Take us home, Ole Paus!)

For Ole Paus appears to know when it's time to leave, and not only that, he's such a cool dude to have around.
