Ole Paus & Jonas Fjeld // Tolv Rustne Strenger // CD

What's another season without something new and wonderful from Ole Paus and Jonas Fjeld – also affectionately known in Norway as "two rusty gentlemen". Time and time again they have blessed us with new songs and lyrics and new shows that have run to packed houses for months. And we're happy to announce that they're here again with 14 new songs on a new CD to be released by KKV in August. This CD is called Tolv rustne strenger (Twelve rusty strings). 

The backing band on this CD is made up of the same musicians from last winter's show, strongly supplemented by Geir Sundstøl on electric guitar, lap steel, steel guitar and resonator guitar. We also hear Sven Ohrvik on keyboard, Sveinung Hovensjø on bass, Eivind Kløverød on drums, and then of course Jonas Fjeld on banjo and various guitars, and Ole Paus on guitar and harmonica. One of the songs also features Knut Reiersrud on electric guitar. The CD also features a 16-girl choir led by Ann Renate Synnes Aass. 

Four of the songs on the CD have been performed previously, but none of them has been recorded until now. 

Jonas Fjeld has written most of the songs on the album, while Ole Paus has written two songs and all the lyrics. The arrangements grew out of a synergy with the band during the recording sessions; the choir arrangements are by Marian Lisland. The CD, recorded in Asker Kulturhus, Kulturkirken Jakob and Studio Nordraak, was mixed at Studio Nordraak by Alf Christian Hvidsteen and produced by Erik Hillestad.
